I just love collecting these spotted jumbo Coturnix quail & blue Celadon quail Hatching Eggs Mixon our homestead in Bradford, Maine. They look so much like wild bird eggs that there’s something magical about placing them in my basket. We feed our quail a complex and nutritious diet that changes with the seasons. In addition to their game bird layer feed, they get ground kitchen scraps, crushed egg shells, wild greens, and grit from the stream bed. Our goal is to grow enough grains for them to feed on year-round by next year.

Shipping: We ship March-October. We keep a waitlist in the off season for when weather allows shipping. Our packaging materials are 100% recycled which means they vary from box to box. We do NOT use foam shippers. We have shipped eggs for many years with wonderful feedback from our customers. Eggs are collected the same day for orders of 12. Larger orders may have eggs up to three days old.

We assure you our dainty eggs are fertilized. We swap our males out between cages for diversity and they vigorously take care of their ladies. Our hens get a break during peak laying hours to ensure their prized eggs aren’t trampled in the excitement.

If this is your first time buying hatching eggs then you should be aware that eggs can lose viability during the shipping process. For chicken eggs it’s “good” to get a 50% hatch rate for shipped eggs. For quail and bantam eggs I have found this to be closer to 75%. If you aren’t willing to accept that your eggs could potentially not hatch, then please do not purchase. I do not expect this to be the case, but it must be considered prior to purchase. We cannot make hatch rate promises due to so many factors outside of our control.
